Gift Planning

Bequests
Wills are the underpinning of estate planning. A donation in your will, known as a bequest, allows you to create a legacy for Women’s College once your needs and those of your loved ones have been met.

There are many benefits to making a bequest:
  • A bequest is a tax-effective way to support Women’s College.
  • Your estate may claim gifts in the year of death equal to 100 per cent of your net income in that year and the preceding year.
  • You have use of the asset while you are alive.
  • You can designate your gift to your preferred area of interest in research or care or allow Women’s College Hospital Foundation to use the gift to support areas of highest priority need.
  • A bequest can be changed if your financial circumstances change.
What you should know about arranging a bequest:
  • Funds are usually bequeathed as a specific dollar amount, a specific piece of property, or a residual amount (e.g. a share or percentage of your estate). What you choose will depend on your personal intentions and circumstances.
  • Please use the legal name "Women’s College Hospital Foundation" in your bequest clause. Our Charitable Number is 119302628RR0001.
Women’s College is pleased to provide downloadable sample wording for bequest gifts.
